There is no reason why police need to be so highly militarized. Even if (big if) it is done in the supposed interest of pubic safety, it shouldn't be. No other developed country needs it, only 3rd world warlords and authoritarian regimes. America has been slipping and it was on such s good path from the 60s to the 90s and then 9/11 changed everything and I bet a bunch of those who died on that day in the attack and the rescue attempts would be aghast at what has happened in the decades following.
When will cops learn that they just have to (I doubt they actually have to) tell somebody "blah blah for your safety" if they want to but nobody has to listen, especially on their own property.

Well, there is one problem here: even if he is standing near his house and during the raid the police or a criminal will open fire and he will be shot, he will sue the police why he was not protected. Democracy is good, but not for Americans, they are stupid for this.
The US Supreme Court has ruled, the police have no duty to protect!

While you were commenting that the homeowner was now handcuffed and standing where he was told not to for his safety, I was thinking the same thing. These officers were not concerned for this man's safety, they were upset at being filmed and told a few home truths.

As a Pennsylvanian I can absolutely confirm that we citizens are living under occupation from our state police. They are corrupt from top to bottom. I earned the right to wear fatigues and military gear when I was in Army. These losers did not.
