I am a certified DOT Medical Examiner. I looked in the Medical Examiner's Handbook 2024 Edition. It specifically states that a CDL holder is unqualified to operate a motor if the prescription exception is met, the medication is prescribed by a licensed practitioner, the clinician is familiar with the driver's medical history, and that the clinician has advised the individual that the substance will not adversely affect their ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. As long as those conditions are met then there is no "ball that can be dropped". Long story short, this cop is an idiot.
