  1. That kid in LA got a million dollars per hit when he was falsely arrested and beaten. I think the video showed he was hit 11 times with a club. This is outrageous and beyond the color of the law.

  2. Normally I agree with a lot of Lackluster's comments. But here is the deal. The man had no front license plate (required by CA state law). OK – so the man had recently purchased the truck. But until the driver stops, talks to the officer, and produces the bill of sale, there is no way to know this. So the idea that there is no traffic violation is false. Why did he not get cited for no tag? Because officers have discretion on what tickets to write or not write. I am sure he has a warning for no tag, even if it is just verbal.

During a stop, the officer has the authority to direct you on where to sit/stand at any point in the stop (Penn. vs. Mimms). I think the officer could have mentioned this one more time, but I also think this driver resisted. The officer was in full uniform with light bar activated.

One could try and argue that this is retaliation for a finger. However, as I pointed out, the driver was commiting an infraction, giving the officer a reason to conduct the stop for the missing plate. Throw in the resistance and now there are 2 charges.

Bottom line, there is no legality for a lawsuit. Traffic stop is valid and the man did ntoi get back in the tuck after given a lawful order to do so.
