If it was a southwest airline pilot!! Then why the hell are they showing American airline planes.
That's BS
Dude may have been…. but those teats are meant for you to fail.
The field sobriety tests are designed to fail you. It's b.s.
Under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, the governing rule is found in 14 CFR §120.37 and §91.17.
Here are the precise requirements:
⸻
FAA Alcohol Prohibitions for Pilots
1. “8 Hours Bottle to Throttle” Rule
• A pilot may not act (or attempt to act) as a crewmember of a civil aircraft within 8 hours after consuming any alcoholic beverage.
• This is commonly summarized as the “8 hours bottle-to-throttle” rule.
2. Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Limit
• A pilot may not operate an aircraft with a BAC of 0.04% or greater (half the legal driving limit in most U.S. states).
• Even if more than 8 hours have passed, exceeding this threshold is a violation.
3. “Under the Influence” Clause
• A pilot may not act as a crewmember if under the influence of alcohol or if using any drug that impairs faculties, even if BAC is below 0.04%.
• This provides a catch-all: impairment at any measurable level may still be disqualifying.
4. Refusal of Testing
• Refusal to submit to an FAA-or law enforcementrequested alcohol test is treated the same as failing the test.
⸻
Practical Standard Used by Airlines
• Many commercial airlines impose stricter internal policies than the FAA minimums.
• Example: Some carriers require 12 hours bottle-to-throttle to ensure compliance and allow for metabolic clearance.
• This “12-hour rule” is an airline policy, not an FAA regulation, but it is widely enforced to reduce liability.
⸻
✅ Summary:
By FAA regulation, a pilot must wait at least 8 hours after drinking alcohol before flying, must never fly with a BAC ≥0.04%, and must not be under the influence at any level. Airlines often extend this to 12 hours as a stricter safeguard.
are we stupid or something 😭
W a s he innocent or guilty?
That's why you dont do it. Tell them you can blow into the machine or get a blood test. F off.
Did u Do a breath a lizer duo is not work
The test is designed to show you're impaired.
This It's only one of the reasons why I haven't flown in 40 years. And will never fly again. I only travel via modes over which I control. Same mindset can be applied to maintenance of the mode of transportation. If I could build a vehicle, same goes.
The legal limits to operate a plane are higher than driving. Look it up. Driving is .08 flying is like .11
but what did the blood test say? and: can't you afford breathalysers?
Field sobriety tests are far too subjective.. he prolly DID smell like alcohol from the night before but that doesn’t mean he’s drunk.. he needed a breathalyzer
Welp that TSA isnt trusted anymore
This is as assine as it is dangerous. The government use to send pilots up on speed, dexatrom. The redneck army is the worst in America. If the man is legally drunk. Ok. But after the N Dakota mess, I never think we would see it again.
The pilot should've just requested a breathalyzer test and save time.
OTVO
Doesn’t appear to be drunk and never agree to those test ever. Don’t know if he’s drunk but if you ask a cop they will say yes every time
Those tests are unreliable and should never be used. It's always at the cops discretion that if someone passes or fails. Even if they pass with flying colors, the cops can still say the person is under the influence and then arrest them.
DUI or FUI?
Can’t imagine how many do this and other drugs before flying people ..good job paying attention and getting him off that plane
I feel bad for the pilot. He obviously has a problem, but it's good the passengers were not endangered.
That man is not impaired.
i don’t get it but i love it 🍒🧡
Hmmmmm….
I showed this video to my boyfriend and now he thinks we can be YouTube stars too. I think we have a new project🧡
someone explain this like i’m ✨🍓
