There’s a jury trial in Euclid, Ohio this week where Euclid police officer, Michael Amiott is being prosecuted for a use of force incident following the 2017 traffic stop of Richard Hubbard. Amiott is charged with two counts of assault and one count of interfering with civil rights. Cell phone video showed the officer repeatedly punching Richard Hubbard after he was pulled over for an unspecified moving violation. The entire trial has been live streamed on Youtube by WKYC and some of the testimony has been interesting. This is what we’re dealing with by the way, in the mission to obtain some accountability where citizens are violently victimized by the government.

Aaand they age restricted it….. 😐
It's Chet from "Weird Science."
maybe its because i'm from the south but that accent i'm hearing is just screaming is "h'e's lying!"
excellent copsplanation. he might tell us next that george floyd has put derek chauvin's knee on his own neck. the world according to cops is totally alien to the average civvy.
You don't need to make fun of accents and haircuts to try and make your point. You're better than that. Some of us with the same accent and haircut are your subscribers and believe in your cause. You should know better living in WV given the history of people taking cheap shots at the residents there based on assumptions and stereotypes. I'm very disappointed.
disgusting human … U.S police must have low standards to allow these kind of thugs to infiltrate them.
What was the outcome??
A traffic offense, obviously he had it coming.
Deal Lord, please exucute justice here.🙏🏼🙏🏼
IF COPS HAVE IMMUNITY THEN WE CITIZENS HAVE IMMUNITY!! NO MORE STOPS FOR NO REASON!
THEY WORK FOR US!
Needs to go back and get more money!! The guy will have long term injuries!
Striking should never be allowed. There were two cops and all they had to do was wrestle him to the ground. Notice in the first clip of the cop testifying that his fist was clenched. Ask any psychologist what that means, if it isn’t already obvious to you. This cop is a psychopath. Striking is their way to punish, not subdue. He is acting as a private citizen beating another citizen for expecting respect of the constitution.
He is such a arrogant lier. POS.
The expert witness is actually more revolting than that sick worm of a cop! Bet he beats his wife, too. We all know men like this, secret bedroom issues.
The general working Joe has no idea about self-defense .
Most cops are just bullies with the power of the badge embolding them .
You win or lose a confrontation like this in the first ten seconds.
Know where to strike, how hard and when, and you won't be a victim .
This cops a Pos should been charged with attempted murder. And be doing 15 plus years hard time
Update to this case: The officer was convicted of assault a month ago. HOWEVER, he received just a 90 day suspended sentence… he was also working as an officer the entire duration of the trial. Absolute none sense. Once again we have zero accountability. Government protecting their armed goons. The cycle continues.
He's lying in front of everybody
Amazing the cops report almost never matches the video the cop forgot was recording. Cops all lie period… all cops have to do is say it and it’s considered evidence.
A classic example of whenever you hear the police are investigating the behavior of one of their cops, you need to doubt it. Cops investigating cops invaribly shows cops cover other cops screw-ups.
That "expert" could stand on his head and spit gold coins to me and after seeing that tape I wouldn't believe a thing he said
Tell me how one rolls on their belly when having the crap beat out of them
I can't understand why the police think any of this testimony is helping them
One of these days an incodent will happen wjere there is excessive force or poloce brutality and a family is going to go "off" and not bother with a complaint or a cival rights case and take the law into tjeor own hands
Just "SOP BY SOB"
Yellow streak. Ex Blue badge . Chicken sh t .
Police in America are trained to execute violence and use of lethal force on unarmed citizens with complete confidence qualified immunity will protect them justifying their brutality. This officer has carried out these otiosities during his career and got caught on video applying his trade. This is America, where the police are the most dangerous predators on the streets.
The amount of adrenaline in this cop's blood is off the charts if he can continue beating his victim with a broken hand. If he's that afraid, it's because he knows he's in the wrong and wants to control his victim as if he were a criminal, in order to justify his own bad arrest IN ADVANCE.
Just because cops are paid by municipalities doesn't mean they're not mercenaries. To my mind, once they cross over to mercenary status, they should be charged with abuse of authority and all arrests or citations they dole out should be vacated, and paid for by the arresting cops. And if they do get an award or promotion for said activity their superiors should also be thrown in jail.
Omg this is sick this cop needs to be locked up nowww. He's proud of doing this
Like all that was going tru dat imbeciles mind when this was happening real time.
This cop looks like a washed-out gang member. I'm not at all impressed by his testimony; he comes across, to me, as "greasy." Gives me a major "icky" feeling. I just don't know how else to describe it.
And if he's so concerned about the Velcro on his alleged backup gun, and the "suspect" getting that gun, then why is he "trowing" the knee strikes with that alleged ankle holster leg. Doesn't make sense to me. If he wanted to protect the gun, then why put it in reach of the "suspect"?
Also, I have a Concealed Handgun License ("CHL" in Ohio) and, believe me, I know EXACTLY where and how I carry my firearm. I most certainly would not need to think about it, followed up with "I believe so." That's me, as a private citizen being 100% sure. I would expect police officers to be even more certain where they carry their weapons, seeing how they carry those weapons each and every shift.
Incidentally, I'm in Ohio and used to drive through Euclid daily on my way to work. Fortunately, I never had an encounter with this guy – thank goodness!
John Bryan. Throughout the case there were numerous references to Hubbard resisting "arrest". Can you, or anyone else, advise me what he was arrested for? When Amiott took Hubbard's licence, he did not run it through the system to assess it's validly, he simply put it in his pocket, then asked Hubbard to "turn around". At that time he did not know whether it was suspended, nor if indeed there were any outstanding warrants on the man. It appears to me that Amiott asking Hubbard to exit his car demonstrated a mind set and intention to handcuff Amiott straight from the beginning of the stop. This is shown to be the case by Amiott putting his hands on Hubbard straight away, else why try and grab his arm? Surely any reasonable police officer would of announced his or her intention to detain in handcuffs by verbalizing as much. Absent any command, the normal reaction of any member of public would be to pull away from someone just grabbing their arm would they not?
I finds it odd that no-one in the court proceedings questioned the phrase "resisting arrest", when Hubbard was not under arrest for anything. Surely it should of been referred to "obstuction" for "not willing to be grabbed", if that is even such a thing.
My gut feeling was Amiott intended, not to enforce law, but to pick a fight right from the start when he heard the radio call of a colleague that said "that looks fun".
