The statistics show that this kind of job attracts narcisists who thrive on having any kind of power over others.
This is why we are constantly seeing bad cops on power trips because it feeds their ego and need to be in control at all times.
There needs to be stricter mental health evaluations for law enforcement applicants.
If they even show the slightest signs of narcisitic personality disorder, psychopathy or sociopathy they should be denied on the spot and red flagged across all jurisdiction to prevent them from going somewhere else and trying again.
I know people who have flunked out getting onto one PD go to a neighboring city and getting hired because of critieria differences.
