    The irony is as soon as the cop said he needed to be quiet or he'd get a citation he broke the law, because deprivation of rights under the color of law is actually a crime..

    The threat of a citation would cause a person of ordinary firmness to avoid saying something next time. Meaning the cop chilled his freedom of speech. So literally just threatening to cite him for a single 5 word sentence, "Get out the way hero!" is a violation of his rights under the color of law. Namely the first amendment freedom of speech.

    There's no possibility his speech rose to the level of any of the limitations of freedom of speech. It wasn't a threat, it wasn't vulgar, it wasn't inciting criminal activity. I may think it probably isn't a good idea. But it wasn't illegal. So the cops were enforcing their hurt feelings.

    He has every right to be annoyed, angry, and say something when the cops are unnecessarily taking up more space than they need to (especially when you consider they already got everyone involved in cuffs).
