Speed cameras are completely normal in Germany. If you get flashed, you get the fine in the mail. Two photos are taken. One from the license plate and one from the driver. Then you can of course still contradict the whole thing and, if necessary, go to court. In Germany we also have fewer police officers on the street monitoring the traffic, precisely because cameras are set up in many places.
