If the person with the camera had not been inside a crime scene area. He didn't hit the cameraman, merely used a construction sign to move an unauthorized person in a controlled area.

When a case like this goes to trial using foul language and acting less than professional can cause jurors to decide on the side of the police even if the police are blatantly wrong like this.
