I hope his legal team makes both the school and the police dept pay through their teeth, as his reputation has been permanently damaged, hope you have a very comfortable retirement paid for by the police dept and the university, they should all be made to make a formal public apology as well for the damage done!!!
I read the linked article. It appears this issue is being made more complicated than it needs to be. Although my ignorance concerning this issue is huge, my hope is that a reasonable resolution can be reached that is a win-win.
