I live in Washington. The state police are terrible. They could care less about public safety. All they care about is revenue generation. You will see them every three or four miles standing out on I-5 with their radar guns trying to ger speeders.

As usual the prosecutor that works with the police all the time is trying to stall so the community forgets that something has happened and they can then clear the docket quietly and never punish the pos that committed murder whilst driving drunk.
When a prosecutor delays this long, it is usually a good indicator they are going after the victim, in this case the victims family. They'll most likely hit them with a half dozen felony charges with bonds that will keep them in jail for years that will never stick, the judge will refuse a public defender and the process will bankrupt the family. The family will be forced into a plea, with one of the under-the-table agreements being not to sue the woman or the state. Why would they do that you say? Because they can and they have a lot of experience using this tactic to protect a corrupt government and their sicarios, Blue Line Cartel.
