Update – I Talk to the Homeowner in the Swat Entry Building Inspection Case

Last week I posted a Tik Tok video showing what appears to be a police SWAT team style entry into a home related to a building inspection in New Port Richey, Florida. The woman who uploaded the video to Tik Tok reached out and shared the rest of the story with me. It only gets worse with more information…. Check it out. Copies of the “inspection warrant” and underlying affidavit are now posted at the link:

  1. Oh boy, Is this the City of New Port Richey (incorporated) or the section of NPR (Unincorp)? Of course, both unincorporated & corperated are in Pasco County. The City of NPR has its own Code Enforcement Dept. & Code laws. However, if someone files a complaint with the County, they will come into the City of NPR with said complaint. Which you prob already know by now (lol). I was extremely involved with the City of NPR for several years until we had our own run-in with the local P.D.. If I had known then, what I know now, I would have sued the City w/o question. Now, do I not only, not trust even one of them, I am scared to death of them as well.

  2. These tyrant cops around this country are pushing their luck on these illegal searches you come in with guns drawn over a building permit? We are going to fight back led to lead if that's the way you want it? F u.

  3. There appear to be at least 9, maybe 10 people present. They're making a show of force. I don't think there's much chance now that any of the neighbors will criticize the local government. Mission accomplished.

Even a valid search warrant includes specifics on where/what the police may search. Clearly there was no need to inspect the owner's personal belongings to look for a code violation. There is no world in which this could have been legal.

The part I find MOST disturbing is that they knew that the owner had two dogs who are "always there". If I were her, I would go looking for the source of that information. Most likely it's a neighbor who didn't like her sign and has a buddy in the PD. But you can't rule out a few more sinister possiblities. The one thing I'm no buying is that some city employee just randomly ran across pictures on Zillow.

  4. And here we are again. The law enforcement government authorities deliberately harming citizens.
It has also started in England. You had better double up on your own protection because the people who have the power are getting ready to cripple any citizen that doesn't comply with them.
