West Virginia’s New Dictator

West Virginia is currently being ruled by a governor-turned-dictator. Here’s a WV civil rights lawyer’s explanation of why there’s no end in sight. Our elected representatives have been excluded by a tyrannical governor, resulting in the end of our legacy of freedom and a Republican form of government. What can be done?

  1. Bubba I’m not from your state but I would suggest that a sunset clause be inserted into any emergency powers act that’s just common sense. Second, if you’re really certain you want to push the issue, demand that the state legislature be called if that’s refused do a recall election on the governor. At the end of the day the people are the government the elected officials are your employees, remind them of that little fact. 👍

  2. There's no voting your way out of tyranny. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on dinner. Government has gone so far beyond enumerated powers in the Constitution that it is clearly nothing more than a criminal gang. The time for begging is over. Liberty can only be secured by force.

  3. The governor is violating Article I section 10 of the Constitution "Obligation of Contracts clause". He's impairing the obligation of private contracts not only to those contracts with interstate connections, but also to all contracts, even local contracts. It's an unconstitutional edict and he needs to be removed for the deprivation of rights under a color of law. I mean it's clear as day that the governor is taking on the role of a tyrannical dictator under the guise of "safety". This is not a monarchy, it is a republic.
"An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties. It is, in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed." Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425 (1886).
"All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void." Marbury vs. Madison, 5 US (1 Cranch) 137 (1803)
