I maintain that cops only know how to solve crimes they create. They run undercover stings because they know they'll be able to solve those crimes, thus increasing their arrest rates, thus get more funding. But where I live, we have a lot of crime. Every crime that's reported on local news is followed by "and if you have any info that can help police solve this crime, call the crime line. They even give financial incentives for your tip leading to an arrest! That shows me that cops don't know how to solve crime; so they have to generate revenue to "earn their keep"!

Most of what cops do is revenue generation, not preventing or solving crimes.. for example, when a cop hides to write tickets…unless someone is driving carelessly or someone who doesn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign…which I have seen many,many cops do regularly..
