Arrested for Reading a Book During a Thunderstorm | He Wins in Court!

Remember this guy who was in his car reading a book in a gas station parking lot, waiting for a thunderstorm to pass? Officer John LaValley of the Athens-Clarke Police Department (Georgia) arrested him for not providing his ID just because the gas station clerk was worried that he had been in the gas station parking lot for too long. I did a video on it about 5 months ago. Well now that criminal case has gone to court, and the innocent guy who was arrested (John Choe) won. But it’s not over yet.

  2. Seriously, these LEO's need to start being held accountable in a highly public and visible manner to where it becomes known among all LEO's that if you do something like this, it'll cost you money, and your job, period. This has to be brought to an end. Our LEO's should be a force of us who are focused on protecting and serving the community and upholding the constitution they have sworn to protect. Not enforcing their feelings and made-up laws, harassing and often causing mental and bodily harm to innocent people.

  3. Does anyone know what they do with your info when they get your i.d. and "run it through the system" other than check for warrants? Cause they all want that i.d. real real bad. Do you get put on some kind of list or something, makes me wonder.

  4. It should be law that when somebody has a case dismissed because their rights were violated, the County, City or government body that brought the charges and proceeded with the prosecution needs to pay all legal fees and court costs for the defendant. This should also be separate from any possible civil rights violation lawsuit that follows and does not indemnify or relieve the government body from suffering further penalty.

  5. Is it not misuse of 911 to use it to arrange a wellness check when to scared to do it herself? Can I dial 911 if I think there might be a dead cat under my house and I am frightened to look. If I later beef that up to a solicited-by-police trespass notice or suggest the cat might have eaten Gelignite, will that get me off misuse charges?

  6. This pig said that's not normal behavior.. what the fuck is. going here in this world..then they say he's not from here what is the difference that not from here…he could visit his family out here or whatever.. WTF

  7. Cops looking for a crime 🎉, after he sues the PD then he said sue the gas station ⛽️. What is hard is they wanted his ID even if it hinders his 4th amendment. Show me the man and I’ll find a crime.

  8. There is a 7-11 in Saint Augustine Beach Florida that is open 24 hours a day. On any given week night after 11pm you can find cops from the Saint Augustine Police Department, the Saint Johns County Sheriff’s Office and the Saint Augustine Beach Police Department loitering on 7-11 property. I have recorded them loitering there for hours.

  9. The despicable can never be convinced of nor comprehending of their despicableness.
It simply is not in their despicable nature.
The despicable flock and glom to any circumstance where that insatiable despicability may exert itself sans restriction, for example, "policing."
No convention of law or prohibiting social stricture may contain them once granted said power such as of "policing," wherein the full might and ferocity of that despicability may be totally unleashed upon a hapless public at their slightest whim.
Because the majority of "police officers," it seems, are despicable creatures.
    CONSISTENTLY.

  10. All such videos demonstrate a dangerous pattern for citizens. The blue line does not respect constitutional rights or the most basic public policies, they will, you must obey Otherwise they will ruin your life.
