It seems that this cop didn't understand that his job was to be a servant of the people, he fully believed that the people were his servants, do what I say or else. If he had had the patience to listen to this man tell his story, and then explained that perhaps he had video showing what happened, and that he had determined that XYZ happened as opposed to what the old man thought happened, and thus he was going to have to issue a citation, and, you'll need a signature, not not as an admission of guilt, just to agree to show up to court. I think the old guy could have been reasoned with, but the old guy just saw this a**** show up and talked to the other side and all of a sudden determined it was the old guy's fault and that's it didn't want to hear anything more about it Karma and the old guy felt railroaded. If the cop had video showing what happened, why wouldn't you just show the old guy the video and the old guy might have said oh well s***, maybe I am at fault.

What is with the signing of a ticket? Do other countries have this practice cause where I live they just hand it to you and leave. If you don't take care of it either pay or fight it goes on your registration and you can't re-register your car until it's paid, no jail no arrests, no hassles for others just a simple way to deal with tickets.
