Jacob Cannon, formerly with the Ormond Beach, Florida Police Department, was just convicted of felony battery for slamming a highly intoxicated and obnoxious woman (who was handcuffed behind her back) during a DUI arrest processing. During the sentencing hearing, the judge played the video in open court, heard the testimony of the (now sober) victim, as well as the testimony of Cannon himself, who begged the judge for mercy, claiming mental illness, his family, as well as the provocation of the victim, who was verbally abusive during the arrest. This is a rare instance of accountability. But was the sentence enough?

There's the problem. The corrupt Judge was leaning over backward to treat him the same as anyone else, when public employees and those who have special authority, should be held to a MUCH higher standard. And then there's that lying lawyer who stands there and claims he didn't remember throwing her to the floor until he saw the video. Total hogwash. And what about the other cops that stood there and watched?
I wonder what his idea of an "appropriate" sentence be if a police officer did that to his wife or chaild.
A lie told by a liar is stil a lie even when coming from a COP…
Cannon? Loose Cannon, what an asshole
I hope his family will see this video and see what kind of tyrant that he is.
He body slammed a woman, lied to his supervidor and also lied to the court, which is contempt. He should be serving time. Wonder how many other times he has beat up cuffed people, especially women.
I agree, some jail time is appropriate followed by years of probation and lable of felon.
What about the other cop .
He never admitted guilt. Hes sorry he was caught he tried to lie under oath. Despicable
He break the law, he need to face the consequences like anyone else “NO Immunity”. He should think twice before he act…
Lesson can be learned on both ends
Sadly, the fact of the matter is that, in this country, there is a different standard applied to cops. They get special treatment, and judges fall over themselves to excuse the criminal behavior by these people. It’s disgusting.
Happy Anniversary to the Civil rights lawyer and his wife!!!!🎉
The courts are just as corrupt as the cops.
Think twice before you act !!! No excuses for that .
Definitely should not have been a police officer is the first place. Rage issues were probably notable all the way back in his teens. Of the three cops that I know personally, only one is not a rager.
What a joke of a sentence! She’s half his size and in hand cuffs she poised zero physical threat to this vicious hateful monster. Hearing her crying out in pain is just heartbreaking this judge is a disgrace .
The American courts and justice system are severely broken…..this is a kangaroo court. What a joke, fuck law and order!!
no its not fair to your wife for family. THATS WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE ACTING LIKE A PSYCHO. You could have killed that woman! Bet your wife if happy though, Because you probably beat her according to statistics of Police Officers.
I call BS! That sentence was ridiculous. She didn't treat him like other people. I guarantee that. Yes she was intoxicated and verbally abusive. But if I had been the one to do that to that woman I'd be going to prison for sure. Not a bs 6 month county jail crap. That judge should be investigated.
What about the other knucklehead that just stood there & watched ? This is complacent behavior and is just as guilty.
He forgot to tell the judge that he’s a filthy demonic beast that has no moral conscience 🤷♂️
Has anyone been to this guys 89 website?
TCRL! ❤
Was it fair that your outburst violent behavior almost killed that woman.
Sentence waaay too short. He KNEW BETTER AND DID IT ANYWAY
Just once I’d like to see a cop actually arrest their colleague for going over the line and breaking the law in front of them
The other officer that stood there and watched and offered no aid should be held accountable.
Ok, so he has a mental illness. Why on earth is he a cop.
This Criminal FRIENDLY JUDGE .. should have all her judgments REVIEWED and scrutinized.
Really?? Treat you like anyone else in a similar situation??? What happened to holding themselves to a higher standard? She was handcuffed and physically abused with no defense!! Lying under oath on official documents… no crime there??? Does the court really take into account that i have a family, young children and bills to pay when sentencing me? I highly doubt that's a factor considered for the public. In fact, most verdicts are whatever the prosecutors recommend unless it's crazy. Check this judges record and see what her standard might be.
And we should get at least 10 years
What about the second officer? Did she cover up for the first one? Did she face any charges? Did she tell the truth?
And for not catering to his ego
LEO sentencing discount applied.
Thanks for all u do
Not that it should matter but she's a pretty woman with a nasty scar now. Dude should have not lost his temper and put himself in that position. He deserves to be punished for punishing that helpless lady.
The real sentence is the lifetime baggage of carrying a felony person to person battery charge. He can no longer be a cop and will have to become self employed in the construction trades. Nobody will hire him. He can't do private security or become a private investigator. He can't even rent an apartment unless he personally knows the landlord. His FICO score took a hit also. He can't volunteer to coach little league baseball or any other sport because those positions require background checks. He lost his retirement package and is a viral "superstar". Six months in jail is the easy part. It's the rest of his life that's hard.
If he didn't remember doing it just because he was blind with rage for her not catering to his authority
Ramada thought about that before he did the damage to that lady's face
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
So he's complaining his family would have to struggle like the rest of us if he went to jail?
Hello there
Hey is there a chance that u can contact the victim? I have something very important to talk to her about. It’s related to her scar
"Your Honor, I have two kids…" In that case, I sentence you to 5 years, and no balls!
🐂 💩 sentence. Needs to be decertified, judge is jacked. Whiney ass defense attorney, and poor me abuser. We are definitely in a “police state.”
Ok i now hate this channel
High standards low punishments. Aren’t felonies punishable by a minimum of 1 year? I think I missed something.
she says she treating him like anyone else, but he wasn’t anyone else. he was in a position of authority and had total control over that woman’s safety and he viciously attacked a helpless woman.
that should he taken to account more than him not having a record.
