“None of your business” was a little aggressive but within his rights. Still cops are good at escalation without help. The cop was able to read the license plate when he wrote the ticket so this stop was ILLEGAL. Cop totally lied about the Insurrance information because you could have your policy number written down on a piece of paper and the cop could verify it. Drivers are NOT required to be able to access an electronic app to verify Insurrance information.
The driver was being a cocky smart ass because he had the lawyer on the phone.
5:45 Yeah. There are people who do print off fake insurance cards. But the remedy for that wouldn't be to ask the person with the fake insurance printed off card to pull up his phone and show you some other possibly fake information. The answer would be to walk to your car type in the numbers and see if it comes back as a different name. Dancer wouldn't be to sit there and harass the possible criminals or the possible innocent people.

IMO the driver was more cocky due to he has Attorney Shield thinking he is gold. Cops can be a A-Hole about a tinted license plate cover, I been pulled over because of it and I was driving a vehicle and bike.
He also needs to be careful, he's not entitled to an attorney until after he's arrested and is being formally questioned. The side of the car doesn't count, he just needs to use his right to remain silent and to tell them no to any searches. You can do that and still be polite and not escalate. Never litigate at the side of the road, that rarely ends well. Be polite, give them nothing, let your attorney sort it out.
The guy could have been nicer just by saying “that way” or “over there” or “I don’t answer question”. I don’t blame him for NOT liking cops.

The insurance issue shows how police will always look for a new way to harass you. It used to be that they did not trust the technology, and want to accept your insurance based on what they you showed them on your phone, they wanted a physical hard copy printed out. Now that that is pretty universally been accepted, now it's the opposite. oh well you could have printed this out and changed it. Just like they are in some states questioning your Paper Tags when you get temporary dealer tags. Because some people have taken advantage and cheated the system, now they use that as an excuse to pull over every single car they see with Paper Tags.
