About two weeks ago I posted a video showing cops in Owensboro, Kentucky responding to a guy’s house after he butt-dialed 911 by accidentally pressing the “emergency” button on his iPhone. But when officers from the Owensboro Police Department arrived, they claimed that officers had the “right” to detain the guy and enter his house, despite not having a warrant. The reason they gave is the alleged smell of marijuana. As I explained in the video, that was completely wrong – a violation of the important protections our Founders gave to the privacy of our homes. These were constitutional violations captured on the officers’ own bodycams. That video ended up making it into both the TV news, as well as the local newspaper there. Which was fantastic, because that, in turn, then prompted the Owensboro Police Department to publicly respond to my video.

"Human error" 🤣
Its more like didn't care!!! Why would they???
These LOW IQ, otherwise UN-employable, bottom of the barrel trash, are 'trained' to treat the Constitution (Bill of Rights) as an outdated, and therefore meaningless scrap of paper, that has NO relevance in the world of law enforcement.
Law enforcement has NEVER paid any great heed to the RIGHTS given us in the Bill of Rights, BUT the passage of The Patriot ACT, has allowed them to openly mock, and ignore those RIGHTS, as EVERYONE, according to the FBI and Homeland Security, is now to be considered an 'insurgent' or a domestic terrorist, with NO expectation of INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM.
Lawsuit.
Reefer Madness is not real. If you want to fight a war on weed, I hope you d1e. Right and wrong are real. Cops will lose their war, because they are wrong.
Of course the seargent/supervisor is blindly backing the blue and defending the BS of his Officers 🤦🏻♀️
A lot of these start because they’re mad someone doesn’t want to give them their name or id. Seems like they escalate things in retaliation. They also ran the trucks plates when he refused. Then they also put their foot in the door. All these things were wrong as well right?
I would like to see the number of people who end up in jail over A marijuana investigation. Those numbers might make up a third of all arrests.
"But what if I'm not allowed to do the thing I want to do to a citizen?"
"Just remember these sacred words, trainee: I smell marijuana. Lets us get away with anything."
Sounds like the entire dept got homework because of the these three
NEVER open the door to thieves or police
One thing that needs to be noted. These cops never violated his civil rights. They never entered the house because they knew they couldn't without his permission. Every word out of their mouths was a lie and they knew it. They wanted to trick him into letting them come in. Cops are allowed to lie to people. Don't fall for it.
Did that once and the cops came the front door and made my wife get out of the shower to make sure I wasn't beating her up….
Xavier might also be able to claim 1st amendment, right to petition grievances clause. The "asking for supervisor" could be construed as such and he was instead threatened if he tried to use his right to complain a.k.a. petition his government with his grievances.
We investigated ourselves and found we did no wrong.
They don't know the law, confidently state the wrong thing, gaslight and then, to save face, assure everyone that they will do better in the future 😅
Point made, i'm glad you shared his video to expose the police misconduct. I just hate that our "leaders" and or protect and serve folks are FAILING so frequently. These failures are going to lead us closer to a surveilled society. 😕
The statement from the police department stated that the officers smelled the odor of marijuana. What proof did they have? Are their noses calibrated and certified to recognize all smells?
I'm a big fan. Kentucky resident here 👋. Doug Harless case London KY 🙏. It's now over a year…no nothing. Signed concerned citizen. Thank you for all you do ❤️
They aren’t going to do anything, and they wonder why everyone hates the cops ! Deservently so !!!!!
Why is no addressing the statement by police admitting they are running a business?
I’m so glad I live where I do. My Dad was a Police Officer and became the youngest detective in our States History. That being said, the Police Officers that I have come in contact with have been actual human beings and treat our citizens the same. Of course there have been horrible crimes that they do respond to and have to take action. There are certain situations that requires common sense. This was one of them. There was no emergency, the young man wasn’t disrespectful and I really respect the statement their Department put out.
The most probable outcome is that the cops will continue their scumbaggery the same as before
It is hard to educate people that can't read. Hire smarter cops.
Its about time we get a seperate phone for emt/fire and another for police.
In my 36 years as a LEO, now retired for twenty, I just don’t understand the mindset of officers today.
A 911 hang up.call, satisfy yourself there is no crime in progress, and no one is in danger. Well, that was an easy one.
Here’s the problem: almost half of all cops (48%) only have a high school diploma or GED. Given the fact that public school standards are so low, half of all cops just aren’t very smart. They don’t understand basic legal concepts. Why are they cops? Because police forces are having trouble hiring bodies. Uneducated, dumb cops like the two cop we saw in the video cause a backlash from people who used to believe the cliche that 95% of all cops are good, but now no longer believe that. The “blue wall” keeps good cops from exposing dumb, bad cops. Th two cop that didn’t understand the basic concept of needing a warrant to enter the home, would be working at Walmart if they weren’t cops.
The victim deserves a public apology from those specific cops that did this
Follow up pl e ase
WHEN YOU ENTER I PLEAD THE SECOND, SUE THE COPS AND HAVE THEM SACKED
The police need constant pressure for us to avoid tyranny from them. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.!
No punishment will happen. No accountability, you just fell for the oldest trick in their book. Words and nothing more. No action. You are all suckers. Police win again.
I was quite pleased to see your video on the local news here as our police department has been needing to be put on blast for far too long.
From this fellow Owensboro resident, thank you.
I don't believe they took responsibility for their actions, that's like driving drunk and making the excuse I'm only human. They're public servants who took the oath to uphold the constitution and yet they haven't made any attempts to know what the constitution is and the laws that bind them to uphold the law.
They'll investigate themselves and find nothing wrong .
Thank you for fighting the good fight! Keep up the good work! Not all cops are bad but enough of them are that we need content like this!
All OPD officers need to take a Fourth Amendment class and pass a long exam.
Cops "We are only human"….I fail to ever see any evidence of it, more gaslighting. Like pretending that they REALLY didnt know what his rights were.
The cops hate and have a hard time excepting that their powers are not all empowering over us.
COPS : " BAD NEWS Mr. Civil Rights Lawyer, We watched your video and we smell marijuana !
" In face, We got a contact power high and we'll be right over,
" After a quick stop at the kwiki-mart " <O_O/>
It seems if you call for anything now a days you need a lawyer to be present
It only took 2 years and a lawyer
Never open the door to the law cartel
