UPDATE: My Video Makes the News, County Responds #shorts

UPDATE: On January 6, I posted a video showing Wake County (NC) Deputy Andrew Deras walking up to the front door of the Briggs family’s home. Nobody answers the door, so he just lets himself in and begins to look around. About a minute later, shots ring out from inside the house. He shot the family dog. Mr. Briggs was at work. Mrs. Briggs was out of town. Their 4 kids were at school. It was just Zelda, the family’s beloved Belgian Malinois, being a good girl, doing her job protecting their home from armed intruders. Zelda didn’t make it. After my video was published, it ended up making the local news in North Carolina, and resulting in a response from the Wake County Sheriff’s Department. Unbelievably, Deputy Deras seems to have completely disappeared.

  1. For what reason did he enter their house at all? He heard their dog and knew their dog was there. No response to knocking means no entry.
Perhaps that cop wanted to shoot their dog! Hmm

  2. So if I am on a jury someday, why should I ever believe a word a cop says without some sort of hard evidence to corroborate it? At this point it seems that lying and collusion are a job requirement.

  3. Hello maybe someone was in the shower ?? Just because you knock and no one answers you don’t get to try the door knob and walk in. Like I said, maybe there was a kid there taking a shower, a teenage girl ?

  4. They’re going to give him a slap on the wrist cuz it was just a dog from their pov not recognizing that if someone was in the shower or sleep or in the basement and surprised him, he would have Burned After Reading them in their own house that he wasn’t supposed to be in. Can the mailman do this? The meter reader? What part of the constitution says cops can come in your home without a warrant, without exigent circumstances, gun drawn, prowling, execute your dog, then we as a nation are discussing the morality of it. What about the criminality of it? Nobody else that doesn’t wear a badge can do this. And they aren’t supposed to do this either so what punishment would happen if I did it? I have the same legal authority in this case as that cop. I show up to the door. Discover it’s open, draw my personal weapon, creep through the house, and kill the first thing I come across. What would my punishment be? Does it matter if I say I thought it was a break in or home invasion?

  5. The cop that said "You did the right thing" was going of what that cop told him so as far as he knew the dog attack the cop. He had no idea at the time of that statement that he was lying.

  6. Pisses me off so bad!!!! He needs to be charged with animal cruelty…and breaking and entering. That storm door was closed, the homes front door was not open, he knocked pretty hard on it before opening it up all the way. And the dog clearly barking b4 he went into the house and the entire time he was in there. Serving a civil warrant doesn't give anyone the right to rummage thru a person's home while no one was there…and the dog sounded as if it were in another room…it didn't even go to the door. Maybe he was shut in another room, the Sheriff opened it and the dog was surprised. I read on the report the dog grabbed the man's ankle…I want to see teeth marks, the lying mfer! He had no business in there in the first place.

  7. This is so sad that police are this apt to just lie about everything. Instead of following the law as an officer is supposed to he does what he wants to and comes on onto someone's home without permission. This is a disgusting use of power and this officer needs to be fired and criminally charged

  8. They had no right to go in the hone regardless of door being open they entered without permission and crossed they homes threshold. The dog was in his home. That cop should lose his job

  9. Cops just can't help themselves to lie, lied about not hearing it bark and then lied about it attacking him. I've seen this full video, The dog is in the kitchen behind closed doors, He opened the door up walked in the kitchen where the dog was barking and shot it.
