When Cops Demand ID for a Walmart Trespass, But No Crime is Suspected

Eddie and his mom went to the Gadsden, Alabama, Walmart to pick up a pair of shoes. But a Karen security guard called the cops and requested that they trespass Eddie from the store. Even though Sgt. Unlu of the Gadsden Police Department admitted that Eddie had committed no crime, he wanted Eddie’s ID in order to provide his personal information to Walmart for purposes of a trespass notice. This is a common issue around the country. Is there a Walmart exception to the 4th Amendment, or does Eddie have any constitutional protections in this scenario?

  2. Probably should contact Walmart and ask there side of the story… then the mayor… and the police chief… obtain all pertinent individuals name etc who were involved from Walmart

  3. Wonder if it’s the only grocer in town. That would be pretty messed up for something like this to happen in a small town and get trespassed from the only grocery store in town

  4. How can cops today not know the constitution super seeds any city ordinances. How completely stupid.
What job in America can you scream and yell and act a fool? Answer- law enforcement is the only one.

  5. Why do you shop at Walmart!?!?! If you have other alternatives do not shop there. I have seen countless video like this and Walmart employees are as bad as the cops. Furthermore they donated to Heritage Foundation the makers of Project 2025

  6. He flipped her off, may be freedom of speech, but it's private property and if they want you gone, sorry not sorry.
If they're trespassing him, the store has to manage that with the police with documentation then they need ID. Simple as that.

  7. Police are fundamentally tasked with serving and protecting the public, acting as guardians of community safety and upholders of the law, not as rulers or controllers. Their core purpose is to enforce laws impartially, maintain public order, and safeguard citizens’ rights and well-being. They work for the community, funded by taxpayers, to prevent crime, respond to emergencies, and foster a safe environment where people can live freely within the bounds of the law.

This means police are accountable to the public, not above it. Their authority is granted by society to serve its interests, not to dominate or suppress. When police act with short tempers or lack legal knowledge, as, it risks turning their role into one of control rather than service, leading to rights violations and eroded trust. Similarly, when leadership conceals misconduct, it betrays this servant role, undermining the social contract.

By prioritizing de-escalation, legal competence, and accountability, police can fulfill their true purpose: working for us to ensure safety and justice, not exerting power over us.

  8. It has become clear that it does not matter what the law is , Police make up the laws as they go along and or twist a law that does exist . So until QI is removed in these cases and officers forced to actually learn the laws and learn how to properly protect and serve the citizens they swore by oath to do , nothing is going to change

  9. Cops do not serve the community they want to put you in jail and hem you up with fines court cost and jail time remember the thin blue line is a cult. Please update us on this outrageous case please thank you.

  10. There seems to be a consistency here, and it's called Walmart! I guess they just don't like all those pesky customers around all the time! I will oblige and relieve you of my presence, and any purchases that I might have made in the future in your store! You're welcome!

  11. I get the "comply and sort it out in court", but we all know that some people, think about the history lesson you just provided, cannot afford a lawyer. We also know just how incompetent public defenders can be. Had this video not gone viral, he would have been guilty as charged.

  12. In Alabama you are NOT required to show an identification card unless being accused of a criminal act…aka demonstrable probable cause or reasonable suspicion of a crime.
The police are allowed to ask you 3 specific questions at a "Terry" stop. 1) Your name. 2) Your home address. 3) Explanation of actions. You can legally refuse to answer all other questions.
In this case…you are not required to give your ID to a Walmart employee no matter what because they are not law enforcement and have no Rights over your personal information.
The officer had already stated that the guy committed no crime and as such he is NOT required under any Alabama law to hand provide his physical ID to the officer.
BTW: When asking "Am I free to go?" Any answer or response other than "NO" is an implied YES and as such you are free to go.

  13. As always, a simple trip to Walmart cannot be effed up all out of proportion by simply adding a bunch of ignorant cops to the mix to eff it up completely.

  14. I am 63, my 98 year old dad wash in ww2. He and my mom insisted we pay attention in school so that we knew what NAZIS were. I called I mayors office after an Arkansas police video and the man at the mayors office described these kind of actions as proactive policing.
    My history teachers called NAZIS.

  15. I live in Colorado and we also are a, "Stop and I.D." state. I've tried looking into what this means exactly and I still don't get it. Cops need R.A.S. to get I.D. in any state even a stop and I.D. state. How is a "Stop and I.D." state any different from what that is not. I realize in any state if driving and pulled over you are required to give I.D. aside from that what is the difference???
